Bronx Community | Southern Bronx Neighborhood | Real Estate Information
Welcome to the Bronx, the only one of the 5 boroughs that can claim they share the mainland with Manhattan. It is 41 square miles with 1,385,000 residents.
The Bronx was formed in 1912, it is also the northernmost of the city's neighborhoods. The city is connected to Manhattan via about a dozen bridges and railroad tunnels.
Early in the 1990's, over one billion dollars were spent revitalizing the neighborhood. Over 4,000 new homes were built at affordable pricing. More then 50 dilapidated apartment buildings were renovated for residential use.
Although the Bronx is almost all residential, 80 miles of prime waterfront is used for industrial aspects. The Bronx is home to Yankee Stadium, The Bronx Zoo and the Zoological Gardens.
Back in April of 2015, the Southern Bronx became a major draw for investors! The real estate market is varied here. Compared to Brooklyn and Queens, homes here are still affordable for the average real estate transaction!
